Medical narration comes in a variety forms, from highly technical descriptions of procedures to explainer videos for patients.

Successful medical narration voice over has three main qualities: it engages the audience, clearly delivers the message, and – very importantly – is 100% accurate.

Essential is understanding the flow of the script – even if the content is for experts – so that the vocal delivery is both natural and logical. Knowing which words or phrases to emphasise in order to make associations clear is of paramount importance.

Therefore, research and preparation is key. Even if the narrator doesn’t fully understand what they’re describing, they need to know how to phrase it and colour it for the designed effect.
